Happy March and where did February go? I sure don't know but since today is the first day of the month that means it's time for a new Splitcoaststampers Fan Club Christmas Challenge. With this card, I am also celebrating this week's Featured Stamper, Maura!
Our son came home for the weekend so I set aside everything and just hung out with him. We had some wonderful chats, watched one of his favorite movies and played Splendor with the Expansion set. I have lost every game of Splendor we have played except one since we bought it two years ago! But I digress. Since my son was home I didn't start working on this card until late in the evening and that's where the joy of using Picket Fence Studios stamps and dies comes in!
The Glass Window Cover Plate is a dream to use! I ran it through my Gemini Jr and all those little pieces cut perfectly! The pieces that didn't fall out on their own were easily removed by pressing into the cutouts with a piercing tool. All I had to do after that was add a colorful piece to the back of the cover die cut and boom, an interesting background was born! The focal point sentiment is a wonderful size so all I did was add a bit of stamped embellishment from On a Christmas Walk (coordinating die) and The Season of Giving (coordinating die). The coordinating dies made it a snap to finish the card!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I would love to know if you have ever played Splendor or even if you like board games!
SUch a beautiful card- I love the sentiment taking center stage and your die is so pretty! I love that you set aside everything to spend time with your son, and play games too. We really love to play board games as a family!
ReplyDeleteFabulously fun, festive design. I'm really digging the background die and can't help but smile up a storm over the sweet pup in its wintertime accessories. Aww!!!

What a gorgeous card Angie - love the bright green behind the die cut. I have never played Splendor - it's a bit hard when you are on your own :) While DH could still see we played a lot of Rummikub and Scrabble though
