Sleep Rest Recover

We have had a wonderful summer which culminated in a three-night theatre production of
Mary Poppins!  Our daughter spent 20 days over the summer rehearsing along with students from our three county high schools.  She had a blast!  After three nights of dancing, singing, applause, cast suppers and a cast party she is one exhausted girl in need of sleep, rest and recovery!

For today's card, I used the beautiful image/sentiment from Many More by The Project Bin. I colored the leaf with Chameleon Color Tone pens, then die cut the layer and adhered it to craft foam.  I usually search for patterned paper before I color my image so I can get a good match but I didn't do that with this project.  I was fortunate to find the perfect match in an older SEI Field Notes paper stack after the image was colored!

School starts on Friday here and for me, that signals the end of summer so I am off to enjoy the last few days of freedom!  I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer!

Black and White

This week for the IC Challenge at Splitcoaststampers Brenda has chosen Plow & Hearth as our inspiration site.  Browsing the site is a fun way to hold onto summer with all the pretty outdoor photos.  The current challege at Unity Stamp Co. is Black and White so for my card I combined both challenges and came up with this!

I stamped the image and sentiment from the KOM 1/17 When You Smile, added a few highlights with a Copic marker and adhered layers.

I hope you get to color something this weekend!

Hand Made Many More

Today I am once again featuring the sweet set, Many More that was recently released by The Project Bin.  This is such a fun set for every occasion.  Today I am using birthday greetings both inside and out.  I love the cute party hats and isn't that a fabulous sentiment!  I have been admiring this fold for some time.  It's super fun to do and if you can remember not to cut all the way through the patterned paper layer it's a quick and easy fold.

For the inside, I used a scrap of leftover patterned paper and adhered it to the bottom of the card.  I stamped the birthday greeting and then masked off everything from the main birthday greeting but one party hat!

For the backside of the card, I used a sentiment from the Hand Made set!  With this particular stamp on the back of your cards, you can sell your individually hand stamped cards using The Project Bin stamps!  Again, I just had to use that party hat!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a fabulous day!!!

You Rock

This week Stacy is our hostess for the Inspiration Challenge at Splistcoaststampers and she has chosen US Mint Sheets.com to inspire us.  I selected several stamp sheets as inspiration but then on a whim, I typed in Jimi and to my surprise, the very Jimi stamp sheet that I purchased earlier in the year popped up!  I bought the sheet for our son who is a Jimi fan and an excellent guitar player.

To create the yellow layer, I swished a piece of cardstock through Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide spritzed with water. The guitar die cut is from Anita (aka snietje) a sweet friend at SCS!  The sentiment is from the Katie Girl stamp kit by Unity Stamp Co.  Since this will go to our son I masked off the "my world" part of the sentiment.  I figure it probably isn't cool for mom to say that!

Even the back of the stamp sheet is fabulous!

I think it's so cool how the front of the stamp sheet is made to look like a
record album with a hint of the record showing!

Ever since I moved my photography set up to the back room our Little Bit (named for how tiny she was when she picked out her forever family) sticks to me like glue when I turn on the studio lights.  She rubs against the stand (which is a ladder, hehe) where I place my camera so that it rocks the ladder and blurs the photos.  She loves to climb up and sit next to the card knocking over whatever I might have set out for staging.  Today I gave in and took advantage of the photo op!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!!
Have a fabulous weekend!

Sleep, Rest, Recover

In the fast-paced world we find ourselves in sometimes we need to be reminded to take care of the basics!  I love this sentiment as it gives the recipient permission to get some extra sleep, rest and recover!  This sentiment is part of the Many More stamp set by The Project Bin.

I googled the ginkgo leaf and found gorgeous greens and yellows but I also found a photo of one that was watercolored in the reds and browns of fall which inspired my coloring.

Thanks for looking and I hope you find time for a little extra rest this week!

My challenge is titled Lemony Yellow.  You can find all the information HERE, I would love to see you there!!!

For my card, I am featuring Hey Friend a new stamp set by Graciellie Designs at Unity Stamp Co. I just love the hanging flowers, leaves, and feathers in this kit!

For my IC658 challenge, I am sending us to a site with souvenirs to inspire us since July is the most common month for vacations in the US.     I chose THIS photo as my inspiration.  Can you guess why?  I created a gift set with  My Panda Balloon from Unity Stamp Co.  I stamped the cute panda on the envies and tied it all up with a sheer ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Pink Fairy Dreams

Julie is our hostess for the IC657 challenge this week and she chose a sweet site run by two sisters. I found THIS adorable page and was inspired to take out my Playfully Pixie kit from Unity Stamp Co.  The fourth photo on the page totally captured my attention.  The little girl is simply darling and that magenta dress, oh my!   For my sentiment, I chose one from the Reach for the Stars kit.

I totally let my love for pink run wild on this!   I masked the moon then sponged Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves.  I stamped the image then the sentiment and decided a shadow would be a good way to finish off the card.  Reflection shadows are super fun to create!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will join us over at Splitcoaststampers for daily challenges!
