A Christmas Wreath in June

Hi! I know! It's June 1st, not December. But at SCS, we have a monthly Christmas Challenge to help us get ahead of the holiday rush! The challenge is free, and we would love for you to join us!

I had a lot of fun using items not necessarily meant for Christmas! The wreath is the Magnolia Wreath Die from IO. A spring wreath rather than a winter one but with a few snowy splatters, red bows, and red gems, a winter wreath it becomes! And speaking of the bows, they can be found in the Small Balloon Strings die set. They look cute on this wreath. The sentiment IS a Christmas sentiment, so I did use something meant for Christmas.  :)  The sentiment can be found in the Glad Tidings Set.

Thank You - Wedding Inspired

Happy Friday! 

This week's Free 4 All Challenge theme at SCS is Wedding Inspired.  I chose my daughter's wedding, of course!  Her wedding day turned out so pretty!  She chose lilac colors for her flower arrangements, cake accent, and linens.  

I would love to say this was a 10-minute card, but it took a terrible card to finally get here!  The first one went in the trash.  I then began hunting through my background stash to see if I had something I could use.  I found this lovely background from a MISTI project back in June 2021!  I really need to make more backgrounds ahead of time because it is such a help when creativity is at a lull.  I added a little strip behind the thank you, which is very close to the linen color my girl chose.

Lures and Storks - Day 2 of the IO May Release Hop

Hello, and welcome to Day 2 of the IO May Release!

 I had a lot of fun with this first card.  I used a background paper from the Textures paper pad.  The Lures is a new die set this month.  I cut them from watercolor paper and hung them on a Cute Scalloped Rectangle as a piece of art!  :)  

I used the  Stork Die set and paired it with the Cloud Border Die for this sweet baby card.  The sentiment is from the Sweet Baby stamp set, and the cute little blanket was die-cut from a piece of paper from the Spring Plaids

Fish and Babies - May IO Release & Hop Day 1

Hello, and welcome to Day 1 of the IO May Release Hop!  

I had a lot of fun with the Pail and Fish die set.  I paired it with the Gone Fishing stamp set.  I also used a strip of Basics 8 Paper Pack.  

New this month is a super sweet baby set.  I used the baby from the Stork Die set and paired it with the Umbrella.  I stamped a sentiment from Sweet Baby on a Rounded Rectangle layer.  I added Tiny Flowers and a Spring Plaids Background.

Watercolor Wednesday - Water Line Shadows

Hi, It's time for a new Watercolor Wednesday Challenge at SCS, and it's my turn to host.  Recently, I saw a new video from Lydia that would be perfect for this week.  I am still tired from all the wedding excitement, and our next event is a college graduation, so I enjoyed the relaxing exercise of painting water!  Our focus for the challenge is to paint the object's shadow below the water line.  I also added Lydia's fun technique of adding a surprise color to the image. 

SCS is a free online artist community.  When you join, you have your own gallery to add photos of your projects.  I have been a member since 2011!  I love the gallery, daily challenges, and friendships that SCS allows.  If you haven't joined, we would love to have you!   Let me know your username if you are, or become a member so I can follow you!  

Mothers Day & More - Product Focus - Clear Stamps

Hello, and welcome to the IO Product Focus.  This month our focus is on Clear Stamps!  I am featuring two sweet sets today.

The first is Mother's Day Garden.  I like the smaller sets by Jeanne as they are sold at an excellent price point and usually include an image and several sentiments.  The background on this card is from the Basics 8 - Turquoises Paper pack.  

Next, I am featuring two Graduation stamp sets by Nola Chandler.  It's always a joy to create with Nola's sets.  I used the Graduation Squares and the Graduation stamp sets.  The background is the Tiny Stars background stamp.  The images were stamped on a Postage Cuts piece.  I even did a little fussy cutting with the diploma!  :)
