There's something so comforting about a quiet moment with a good book—and today’s handmade card captures that feeling perfectly. Read, Relax, Restore, Repeat is more than just a sentiment… it’s a gentle reminder to slow down and savor the cozy moments.
For my third post as Guest Designer for Creative Worship Stamps, I mixed the Let’s Get Cozy and Picture This stamp sets to create a scrapbook-inspired design filled with warmth and charm.
The Process
I began by stamping two instant photo frames from the Picture This stamp set. On the first frame, I stamped the sentiment: Read, Relax, Restore, Repeat. On the second, I added a stack of books from the Let’s Get Cozy set—because nothing says "cozy" like a pile of good reads.
Next, I worked on the film strip element. After masking off the edges, I stamped the adorable mugs from Let’s Get Cozy into the frames. For the center frame, I kept things light and fresh by adding just the greenery from the plant image.
To bring in a playful, handmade touch, I created my own “Washi tape” using stamps from the Picture This set. I stamped three strips in lime green and added them across the frames and film strip to give the look of a layered scrapbook page—this was such a fun step and really brings the design together!
Patterned paper inspired my color palette, featuring soft lavenders, vibrant fuchsias, calming blues, and a pop of lime green for contrast and energy.
To finish the card, I stamped the sweet, stretching cat from Let’s Get Cozy and tucked him at the edge of the photo frame with the books—adding just the right amount of personality and charm. A few sequins and gems complete the design with a bit of sparkle.
Inspiration & Challenges
I’m participating in Weeks #744–#745 of Word Art Wednesday (Anything Goes). The inspiration for this challenge is a meaningful scripture from the Epistle to the Colossians 1:14, which makes this project even more special.
Make It Your Own
This design is easy to adapt using your favorite stamps, patterned papers, and coloring techniques. Try different color palettes or swap out the images to create your own cozy theme.
Card making is such a wonderful way to share creativity while sending something heartfelt and handmade. I hope this project inspires you to carve out a little creative time for yourself.
