Dashing Through the Snow – A Fun Handmade Snowman Christmas Card
Hello, crafty friends! Today I’m sharing a cheerful handmade Christmas card created for the Splitcoaststampers Fan Club Christmas Challenge. There’s just something magical about snowmen and snowy scenes that instantly brings that cozy holiday feeling to life!
For this card, I used the Dashing Snowman set by SweetMissDaisy Designs to create a playful winter scene full of movement and charm.
Process
I started with a stitched layer and stamped a scattering of snowflakes to build a soft, snowy background. Next, I added a slotted panel for extra interest and dimension, filling the openings with three sweet trees from the set along with a few die-cut snowflakes.
The real star of the show is the adorable snowman, happily sledding down a hill! To emphasize that sense of motion, I used a circle die along with the partial die-cutting technique. This allowed parts of his scarf and hat to extend beyond the circle, giving the illusion that they’re blowing in the winter wind—such a fun detail that really brings the scene to life.
To finish the card, I added “25” along with a wax seal-style outline as a festive nod to Christmas Day.

One of my favorite things about this design is how easy it is to adapt. You can recreate this layout using your favorite stamps, ephemera, patterned papers, or die cuts for any season—just swap out the images and colors!
