Hello, crafty friends!
It’s spooky season, and I’m excited to share a couple of handmade Halloween cards with you before Halloween arrives! Today’s projects feature fun Halloween patterned paper, adorable pumpkins, a spooky haunted house, and a creative pocket-card design. Whether you love clean and simple cards or enjoy trying a fun fold, these Halloween card ideas are sure to inspire your next crafting session.
Clean and Simple Pumpkin Halloween Card
First up, I’m playing along with this week’s Clean and Simple Challenge at Splitcoaststampers, featuring pumpkins!
For this card, I used papers from the Monster Prints and Monster Brights paper packs by SweetMissDaisy Designs. I cut a 5 1/2-inch by 1 5/8-inch strip from the Monster Prints paper pack and a 5 1/2-inch by 1 1/4-inch strip from the Monster Brights paper pack. I adhered both patterned paper strips to the left side of my card base, creating a fun mix of Halloween colors and patterns.
Next, I stamped the adorable stacked pumpkin image from the Hey Pumpkin stamp set on the right side of the card and added the “Hey Pumpkin” sentiment near the top. I popped up the sentiment for a little extra dimension and finished the design with a gold ribbon that complements the bright patterned paper.
I love how this clean and simple Halloween card combines playful pumpkins, colorful paper, and a touch of gold. It’s a fun way to create a festive card without making the design too complicated!
Fun Halloween Pocket Card with a Haunted HouseMy second project is a super-fun Halloween pocket card! Sometimes it’s nice to change things up with an interactive design, and a pocket card is a great way to add a little surprise.
I started with sturdy cardstock cut to 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches for the card base. I covered the base with the googly-eye paper from the Monster Prints paper pack.To create the pocket, I cut a 3 1/2-inch square in half diagonally to make a triangle. I covered the triangular piece with Monster Brights patterned paper and adhered it to the card base to form the pocket.
For the little card tucked inside, I cut a piece of cardstock measuring 7 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches and folded it in half, creating a 3 3/4-inch-wide card. I added a layer of bright green Monster Brights paper, then stamped the haunted house image from the Haunted stamp set onto cardstock and layered it over the green paper.
I kept the coloring simple, using shades of purple and green to coordinate with the patterned papers and tie the whole design together.
The finished card is playful, colorful, and just a little spooky! The pocket adds an unexpected element and makes this Halloween card extra fun to create and share.
