Christmas in July - Impression Obsession Kit Hop & Giveaway

Hello, it's time to take a look at the IO July Limited Edition Kit!  All the details about the hop are listed below!  

 I am hosting a Fan Club Challenge at SCS this month and the challenge gave me the idea to create an abstract paneled door.  It's super easy to create paneling or shiplap with scoring! I used the direct-to-paper method to add the texture with IO Mist Ink.  I used a Mist cube from THIS set.   For extra impact, I left the wreath uncolored except for the bright red ribbon.  

 I decided to feature three of the five smaller images from this month's kit as mini cards. First, I folded the cardstock.  Next, I taped the fold slightly below the top of the Tag with Reinforcements die.  The result is a tag-shaped card with a hinge at the top.  

These mini cards can be used as tags or as a little thank you with a tip for servers!

Clean Edged Watercolor

Hello! This week, I have chosen Lydia's Clean Edge Masking tutorial for Watercolor Wednesday at SCS.  This is such a quick and fun watercolor project!  I can imagine sitting and just creating a bunch of note cards in an afternoon!  The sentiment is from a collection of More Basic Greetings.  

I couldn't stop with just one card!  Next, I used the Clean Edge technique, but this time I went with a horizontal border.  Before the paint was completely dry, I used a rag and dabbed a few places for a fun textured look.  Then using stamps, I created a whimsical take on the Whale & Boat art.  Lucky for me the Take Me To The Sea stamp set also has a Die Set!  I stamped the boat and watercolored it directly on the paper but I didn't like the colors I chose so I simply stamped another boat, watercolored it in red and die cut it!

Hello!  This week we are taking another look at the beautiful Impression Obsession June Red Rubber Cling  Kit.  Also, new for June is a beautiful paper pack, By the Sea.  I love paper of all kinds so I couldn't wait to use it!  I also used the Rectangle 6 in 1 Frame Die.  It's one die that cuts out 6 frames.  I keep all the extra unused frames in a bag so this one was previously cut and waiting for me!

Welcome to the Impression Obsession June Release Hop Day 2!

Enjoy every moment with this beautiful Beach Chair set!  I framed the image with the Rectangle 6 in 1 Frames Die set. Then stamped the umbrella a second time and paper pieced it over the framing.  

An ocean breeze sets the mind at ease!  For this card, I left the beautiful Enjoying the View image in black & white and created an ocean scene with Distress Inks.  I sure would love to be where she is right now!  :)

Welcome to the June Limited Release Rubber Kit Hop!

I had such a great time with the summery, June Kit!  This kit works beautifully for masculine cards, nautical fans, and lighthouse enthusiasts!  

I created a "wooden" background for the compass rose with the Wood Planks Die set and then cut out my wooden decor with a die from the Deckled Frame set.  Then I heat embossed the compass rose image on the "wooden plank" background.

Lately, I have been favoring Distress Inked backgrounds and I love how the bright sky looks with the lighthouse details in shadow.
