Colour Create Challenge #86

Just days away from Christmas now!!  I have been busy making gifts and cards, hanging out with my children, fixing a computer crash and doing it all ignoring a winter cold!  I have made several different Christmas cards this year.  This is one of my favorites.  I had been thinking about this card for several months but put off using the stamp thinking that my skills might grow and I might get a few more tools to really make a nice card. Good THINKING!!  After receiving wonderful birthday gifts from family and friends I did accumulate better tools and I used them for this card!!  The angel is embossed with silver embossing powder.   I have to say it looks better in person but here it is!    I am entering this card in a color challenge to use Blue, Silver and White.

Paper: GKD Pure luxury,  Recollections Silver "Precious Metals"
Stamp: Inkadinkado

PPC45 and Winter Wonderland VSN

So...it was my birthday on Saturday.  To celebrate I let my teen and tween have their friends over  with the intention of spending the day in my craft room working on "Winter Wonderland VSN" over at SCS!  I headed out for my free birthday Starbucks Pumpkin Frapp, picked up our friends and I was all set to stamp!!!  In 2 days of stamping....I managed to make .....are you ready????  7 whole cards!!!!  LOL....Between this and that and stumbles here in there ...7 cards out of 17 challenges!!  LOL.

This was the 2nd to last card I stamped...I think I was just getting into the groove by the time these last challenges came out!!!!  Our challenge was to create a winter scene. I followed the link that was listed to Theresa Momber's web page.  Theresa is such a talented artist.  I love viewing her step by step photos!!  If you want to see how I created this card click here for Theresa's blog: Crafting the web

For my tree I used Kitchen Sink Stamps multi stamp.  I stamped the tree once in black using stamp 1 and then using stamp 2, I covered it with white.  That gives my tree the look of snow on it!!!  This set is my first Kitchen Sink Stamp set but I don't think my last!!!
I thought this would be a great entry for: Playing in Paradise #45

Stamps: Kitchen Sink Stamps "Multi Owl & Autumn Moon, Martha Stewart Clear Christmas Tree Stamps

Pastel Card Set

So...I have one "Warm Fuzzy" done but I really need two to go to MN.  Not sure I am going to get them done.  My head is just full of gift ideas.  Now to get them from my head to the work table!!!!

I was inspired this week to make a card set to give away this Christmas.  I actually want to complete quite a few sets but Lee with her "Summertime in November" challenge at StampTV gave me the added push I needed to sit down and CREATE!  If you look hard you might be able to see a little sparkle I added with a clear glitter pen!!

The images are colored with pencils and OMS
The sentiment is from Hero Arts
The stamp is 1.00 stamp from Michaels
Textured cardstock from DCWV
Sakura clear glitter gel pen

CPS #246 Warm Fuzzies

We had a whirlwind week last week.  On the spur of the moment we headed to MN to see family.  Although we have been to visit many times this was the first time in over 25 years that Steve shared Thanksgiving with his whole family at their house.  A very special event!!!  I thought I would send a warm fuzzie to let the family know we enjoyed seeing them!!!

I used  CPS 246 as my inspiration for the project!

This card involved a LOT of paper piecing!  The yarn, leg warmers, hat, gloves and dress...all paper pieced.  My skills at cutting are growing!

Stamps: MFT Knit Happens
Paper: K&Co. Hopscotch

CPS - 244 Autumn Thank You

"Autumn Thank You" using CPS 244 Sketch challenge .

With Thanksgiving only a few days away,  I went through my stack to select a few family destinations and realized that I was going to be short cards for giving away to teachers!!!!  So....in the next few days....I need to create a few cards!!!!  This one is headed to middle school!!!

I just loved the design on this paper.  There was more blank space at the top so I switched up the sketch a bit to get the most from the pattern at the bottom.

Paper: DCWV the Crafty Stack, SU Crumb Cake
Ink: StazOn Timber Brown
Stamp: Inkadinkado Harvest Expressions

Day Tripping Jarrell Plantation

We took a little day trip to Jarrell Plantation on Saturday.

Steve enjoyed starting up the steam engine after it received the oil treatment!  The steam engine powered the Cane Press.

After the juice was extruded they cooked it in a pot to make syrup.  It boils for most of the day before it becomes syrup.

We had a lovely day!  The weather was gorgeous.  We saw taffy being made, biscuits cooked on a cast iron stove, mohair spun into yarn and metal forging.  Here are some of the items in the buildings:

Our little trooper!  We didn't realize how bad she was feeling until we were on our way home and she was bundled with all our coats and still had the chills!

Enjoying the day!!!

Speedy the Cat's Challenge week #80

I wanted to enter a card into Mark's Finest Paper challenge and planned on using the Fall card I made earlier in the week but then I decided I wanted to try a Christmas card using Mark's Finest Paper Stamps!  So here it is.  I think this might be my favorite to date!  I don't have any Copics yet, other then the blender pen so I am using an idea I found on Stamp TV.  I used Bic Markit and My Blender.  Not too shabby for a first attempt!

We are back from a 4 day camping trip.  Steve and I camped and backpacked right from the beginning of our marriage so when kids were born we just kept at it.  We took Seth out when he was 6 weeks and Elisabeth when she was 5 weeks old!!!  Most of our trips have been to the same State Park so there are MANY memories.  During this trip it really hit me how much the kids have grown up....and how there are only a few more years left in this part of our family journey.  I want to try and ENJOY the moments more!!

Seth slept in his own tent this trip and took lots of solo walks!  Elisabeth enjoyed the hammock swing Steve made.  The yellow jackets were really bad!  They came out when the food was on the table...they would nibble on the scraps until they had them in small enough bites, then they would fly off with them!!!  It rained on our 3rd day but we still enjoyed ourselves adding warmth with lots of cocoa!!!

Steve and Seth found a geocache.
It was a wonderful trip!!!!

I made these for the SCS Hope You Can Cling To challenges.  These cards will get packaged up along with any others I can make this week and sent to MD Anderson for visitors to give to patients.

"Wishing you Hope"  was CASEd from a pin I saw today on Pinterest.  The pic came from stampyblock.blogspot.com .  She makes beautiful cards!

"HOPE" was made thanks to my SU distributor for lending me her stamp set "Day of Gratitude"!
