Hi! I hope everyone is enjoying a crafty summer! This week's challenge at Speedy Fox & Friends is to use metal!!! The possibilities are endless, charms, gears, brads, metallic embossing powders, etc etc! You can join us HERE with your metalworks creation. For my metallic embellishment I chose square brads, aren't they fun???!!!!
There is something about sponging and masking that is kind of magical to me!!! Part of the paper is covered up and then sponged and when the masks are removed ....it's like magic...a piece of art is sitting there!!!
The lighthouse was paper pieced. We won't mention how MANY times I stamped, colored and cut lighthouses before I had it just RIGHT! Ironically, I set this one aside, unhappy with the result and worked on 2 more lighthouses before glancing over and thinking..."that's a pretty good lighthouse!!!" The sailboat was also paper pieced.
Check out this wonderful stamp set "Island Life" that I used for this card. I really like the different font styles on the sentiments and there is a great scripture included as well..
