Speedy Fox & Friends 166 - Purple

Happy Saturday!!!  Hope you have had a good week!  We are enjoying a summer schedule at our house.  We are catching up on Dr. visits, swimming, sleepovers and the like!  Even though I am thoroughly enjoying all things summer I turned to winter for my card this week!   Speedy Fox & Friends challenge this week to use the color Purple so I decided to make a purple Christmas Card.

To see the wonderful creations from my teammates and to get all the info on how you can join in the fun please check out Speedy Fox & Friends blog HERE!

I am kind of crazy about mixed media right now so I am doing a lot of experimenting.  I used TH distress stains to color the background then covered it with Gesso to soften the colors.  Another layer of distress ink was added and then I stenciled the dots in the top right corner using fiber paste and stamped some snowflakes.  I then added more Gesso and sponged distress ink on the edges.    I stamped the image on cardstock and applied stain to the large tree, coloring in the smaller tree and deer with Copics.

To add a little more interest I used drywall tape and stippled more distress stain over the tape then pulled off the tape to reveal this cool pattern.

A simple inside:

Thanks for looking!!!  I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
