Hi friends!
Today's project is a mason jar card. This week at the Splitcoaststampers Free for All Challenge, we are creating projects inspired by containers. For my project, I couldn’t resist the gorgeous Jar and Flowers stamp set from SweetMissDaisy Designs. There’s something so timeless and comforting about a mason jar filled with fresh blooms.
My Process
I started with a top-fold card base and layered on a strip of purple patterned paper (3 1/2" x 5 1/2") from the Daisies paper pack. This gave the card a bold, cheerful border for the image layer.
Next, I created my focal panel (2 3/4" x 5 1/2"). I stamped the mason jar first, then added the bouquet inside—this process helps ground the flowers naturally within the container.
I got the idea for the colors from ArtNudge #426D. I chose a blue-green color for the jar and a cheerful mix of flowers for the inside. To add a soft finishing touch, I tied a white satin bow at the top of the jar.
For the sentiment, I stamped the “thank you” above the arrangement. And for just a bit of whimsy—I added a tiny bee buzzing in to visit the flowers. I love how that minor detail brings the entire scene to life!
Challenge InspirationI’m also playing along with the Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper Challenge #1000—what an amazing milestone! My inspiration came from a beautiful card featuring blue boots used as a container for flowers. I carried over the idea of a uniquely colored container and bright florals but swapped the boots for a mason jar and traded butterflies for a single buzzing bee.
Wrap-Up
The design of this mason jar card is easy to customize with your favorite stamps, papers, and coloring styles. Handmade thank you cards are such a meaningful way to share a little creativity and kindness.
I hope this project inspires you to create your own container-themed card!
