Hello friends,
Today I’m sharing a cozy winter card featuring a sweet snowman from SweetMissDaisy Designs—this time with a soft lavender twist. There’s something so calming about bringing gentle, unexpected color into winter designs, and lavender adds just the right touch of warmth to an otherwise snowy scene.
For this card, I am participating in the Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper challenge. I chose a beautiful snowman design by Heather and reimagined it with a lavender theme, echoing her scarf while adding my own vintage-style layers.
I started with a patterned background from the Spring Paper Pack by SweetMissDaisy Designs. The soft tones worked perfectly to support the winter theme while keeping everything light and airy. I stamped the Snowman and Fence image onto a square panel and colored his scarf and hatband in lavender for a gentle pop of color.
To build dimension and texture, I stamped the Received Ledger and trimmed it down as a layer behind the snowman. I tucked die cut snowflakes behind the focal panel for a bit of snowy detail and movement.
For that layered vintage feel, I added the “No. 587” element from the Daisy Bouquet set and framed it using a frame from Rooster & Sunflowers. Mixing stamp sets like this is one of my favorite ways to create something unique and full of character.
The sentiment, “May peace and happiness surround you, today and always,” is placed along the bottom of the card. I lightly distressed the framed number, sentiment, and ledger using distress inks to tie everything together in a soft, vintage lavender palette.
As a finishing touch, I added a spiral clip tied with a lavender ribbon for a bit of texture and charm.
If you’d like to recreate this look, you can find the stamps, papers, and coordinating elements I used over at the SweetMissDaisy Designs shop—there are so many beautiful options to mix, match, and make your own.
You can easily adapt this handmade card design using your favorite stamps, patterned papers, and coloring techniques for any season. Card making is such a meaningful way to share creativity while sending something heartfelt and handmade.
I love getting a jump on winter cards—do you?
I hope this project inspires you to create something special today.
