I'm Here for Impression Obsession Die-Cut Day

Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

It's Impression Obsession Die-Cut Day so I decided to use the new Autumn Leaves Die Set.  I dipped cardstock into watery ink and once dry, I die cut the leaves.  For the Woodgrain Frame, I started off with kraft cardstock and distressed the edges with dark ink.  Next, I splattered the frame with water.  The Woodgrain Frame Die is so cool as it embosses the grain at the same time as it cuts, unfortunately, I lost a little of the detail in my photo.  I stamped I'm Here directly on the card base and then framed it.

There is still time to add Tree themed stamps and dies to your collection at a discount just click HERE to shop!

Inspired by Soft and Cuddly

I am hosting this week's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers and I have chosen Stuffed Safari as our inspiration site.  Before I get to the card, I would like to say a word about the company I have chosen to feature.  I found them by doing an online search for a particular gift for a friend.  I found the cutest thing but since we are in the middle of a pandemic, I decided to call and see if I would really be able to get the item into my friend's hands speedy quick!  Customer service was AMAZING!  She checked to make sure they had the stuffed animal and then she packed it herself.  My friend had her gift within days!  While I was waiting for Katie to come back from the stock room, inspiration hit and I asked her if we could use Stuffed Safari as a future Inspiration Challenge site! Whether you are into stamping or in need of a gift, I hope you will stop by Stuffed Safari!

For my inspiration, I found a whole page of cute Polar Bears, there is even an adorable 19" standing one!  First I stamped the Slant Background in blue ink. Then I colored and fussy cut the Winter Bear and placed him in the scene.  I stamped Stay Cozy on a Pinked Stitched Sentiment Banner and added a bit of embellishment around the sentiment with Winter Foliage.

Also there is still time to add to your collection of  TREES and you can get 25% off the items in this category!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Watercolor Powders at Christmas

Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

I am up on the Picket Fence Studios Blog today featuring two fun Christmas cards.  I love to create Christmas at any time of year!  The colors and images just make me smile and it doesn't hurt to cool off with winter images in the middle of a Georgia summer!

For my first card I, used Life Changing Blender Brushes and added Distress Ink through the Candlelight Stencil. Next, I spritzed with water leaving the stencil in place.  Then I sprinkled watercolor powder and spritzed with a bit more water.  I love how the Distress Ink adds another dimension of color to the watercolor powders!  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from Inside  Quotes: Christmas directly on the card front.  Lastly, I added Margarita Sequins Mix

If you played along with the SCS Dare to Get Dirty Challenges you may have seen this one already but it's worth another look, I think! I wanted to feature the large Ho Ho Ho Sentiment but also use a similar background technique as the candlelight card.  So once again I used Life Changing Blender Brushes and randomly added red and green Distress ink on a card front.  Then, I sprinkled on watercolor powders in the same color families as the Distress Ink. Lastly, I added Holiday Hopper Sequins Mix.  I am all about the fabulous Picket Fence Studios Sequins!

It's What You See

Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new Watercolor Wednesday Challenge!  I started with the color and theme prompt from Art Nudge #26.  I ADORE flowering branches and birds as focal points for cards so I pulled out my Lg Bird on Branch.  I thought about adding some blossoms to my branch but I don't really have blossoms that match the lines of the leaves so I decided to make my sky pink and skip the flowers!

I am having a blast with the weekly Watercolor Challenge prompts as I find I use past techniques for the new challenges.  This week, I used the same technique for the sky as I did last week.

This What You See sentiment seems so appropriate for the current season and again makes me think of the message I heard this past Sunday.  If I only look at the close-up narrative I will miss the bigger picture, in other words, it's not so much what I look at that matters, it's what I see!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you will be inspired to play along with the challenges!

STAMPtember and Picket Fence Studios Special Collaboration Day!

It's STAMPtember at Simon Says Stamp and Picket Fence Studios is joining in the fun with a collaboration set!  STAMPtember is a month-long celebration with new stamps and dies every day and there are prizes too!

I had fun coloring the pretty drinks.  I will admit by the time I was done I was wishing for something fun and sparkling to drink.  I am a huge fan of adding a little cranberry juice to sparkling water!  I decided these drinks needed some party sequins to finish off the card.

Today while supplies last Simon Says Stamp is featuring the Happy Water Stamp set and a Happy Water Stamp & Die Bundle.

Here is a list of Picket Fence Studios Design Team participants for this special Collaboration Hop!

Let it Snow?

Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

It's time to feature Old is New for Impression Obsession and I am combining it with the Splitcoaststampers CAS Challenge and last weekend's Art Nudge.

I think The Meeting penguins are absolutely adorable and paired with the bold Let it Snow it makes for an easy CAS card.  The CAS Challenge is to use our favorite Primary color and our favorite secondary color.  I will be honest, I really LIKE color so my favorite depends on the day but blue and green is my favorite color combo (that is since pink isn't an option).

This weekend's Art Nudge was to add sparkle.  I know you cannot see it but it's there.  I added Wink of Stella to the snowflakes in the sentiment, the snow dots in The Meeting, and the snowy ground.

This week's Impression Obsession Featured Category is TREES which includes amazing stamps like this one!

I heard an excellent message this past Sunday.  The speaker talked about not just going THROUGH something but sometimes we have to look OVER it to a brighter hope!  So I hope whatever this week throws at you, you can look OVER it to a brighter narrative!  Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week!
