Distress Pots and a Cute Bug

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

To jump-start today's project I first stopped by SCS to take a look at this week's CAS Challenge. This week we are to feature a Cute Bug.  How does one's creativity leap from bugs to pitchers I will never know but this is what I came up with!  I don't have a ladybug die from IO right now, so I just made my own from the Primitive Gingerbread Accessories.  I love using the little dies that come with the Primitive Gingerbread and the Accessories in different ways! I took one of the little circular die-cuts and used it for the ladybug head and then the heart became her body!

Next, I pulled out the background I created a few weeks ago with  Distress Inks for a Watercolor Wednesday Challenge.   At the time, I didn't want to waste any ink that was left on the palette so I added a couple more ink colors, spritzed with water, and soaked up all the juicy ink with the cardstock.  The result was a  background of jewel tones and citron. I pulled the background from my stash and decided they would make interesting pitchers!  I used both the Large Pitcher and Small Pitcher.  Next, I added a Large Frame around my artsy pitchers and added the happy birthday greeting from Card Sentiments.

The IO team is featuring projects with Die-cuts today so hop on over to the Impression Obsession Blog to see all the lovely projects!

Thanks for popping by!  I hope you have a safe and healthy week!

  5. How clever you were to make your own little ladybug, and I love that it is using a heart shape. A little love bug for sure.
