Welcome back to the Impression Obsession May 2021 Release Celebration!
If you came from the fabulous Vicki Garret's blog you are in the correct place. If not head over to the Impression Obsession blog for the start of the hop.
With my cards today, we are headed under the stars! I heat embossed both the Stars background and the Moon (this is a fun set featuring 2 phases of the moon) for the first card. I used ink smooshing for the sky and Copic coloring on the Hammock Time image. I think this is such a fun image because my husband doesn't take a tent when he backpacks, he uses a specialty backpacking hammock. :) Lastly, I used the Congrats sentiment.
For my next card, I made a similar background to the one above. I used the Stars Background then angled the layer. Next, I die cut the adorable Thermos and Mugs and added Coffee Under the Stars.
What is a camping trip without yummy smores? Well, honestly, I don't eat smores but they sure are fun to create for a card! Funny story, we went camping with friends once and during campfire time our daughter threw marshmallows into the fire. The friend looked at her and in a gruff voice said, "we don't throw marshmallows in the fire!". Our poor little girl's face fell but then my husband stepped in and said, "actually we do!" Since we only end up eating like maybe one marshmallow, we found that it was more fun to throw them in the fire one at a time! So when you toss a marshmallow into a fire they sort of increase in size and twist around making different shapes. It's very entertaining and when you toss them in one at a time the entertainment can last all night! haha!
More fun cards today. I thought of Steve as soon as I saw your first card but I doubt if he pitches between 2 palms very often!
ReplyDeleteForgot to say I must try putting them in the fire in future - Dave enjoyed them on our last trip but I have to say they are rather sweet and sickly and I don't eat that stuff now so perhaps watching them would be fun!
ReplyDeletePoor L..hooray to dad for sticking up for her. I don't even make them for cards. Lol. But the cards turned out so cool.
ReplyDeleteWonderful cards! Love the starry sky you created for your first two cards! Great scene with the palm trees and hammock, and I love the thermos and mug! Fun card with the yummy looking s'mores too!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving both of your cards. That hammock one just makes me want to go climb into it right now.
ReplyDeleteI love the smore one! Darling cards!

ReplyDeleteSeriously fantastic camping/outdoor themed cards, Angie. The s'mores one is my absolute fave (no doubt because s'more are one of my all-time favourite sweet treats), but I adore each one and suddenly feel like heading off on a tenting trip... :)
