Hi, everyone! It's time for a new Inspiration Challenge! Julie has chosen a site with lots to inspire our crafty hearts!
I found THIS photo on Pinterest and right off I knew what I wanted to do!
I spent the weekend at Lydia's October Virtual Retreat. We had so much fun! We Zoomed half the time and took classes on FB via LIVE events. I feel like I made a whole batch of new friends and learned a lot too! So, I didn't completely follow the directions on my card because this was my second attempt. First, we used tape to mask off some lines. Then we stenciled the background and I chose the Slim Line Rainbow Stencil. This is where I diverged from the lesson. We are actually supposed to take a pen and draw lines so that the white-masked pathways seem to be above the stenciled pattern below. Sadly, my hands are just too unsteady and my black pen lines went everywhere, EVEN though I used my trusty ruler. Therefore on this attempt, I decided to go without the pen lines.
Now back to the inspiration photo! When I saw the bright colors and the white lines, I thought, "I have a card partway done for that"! I decided to cut a square out of the card front using the new Picket Fence Studios Slimline Cutting System. Then on a white layer, I stamped the cute umbrella duo from After the Storm and colored them. I adhered all the layers and then I added Screwdriver Sequins Mix. I just love Picket Fence Studios Sequins Mixes because they can have unexpected colors in the mix. Who would have guessed that this mostly orange mix would include these cool blue reflective sequins?!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you will join us for the Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge!
This card looks wonderful. Love how you masked and stamped sentiments. So unique.
